Are you looking for simple ways to reduce waste at the grocery store? Check out this new innovative program coming to Canada from Loop and Loblaw, which allows you to buy everyday grocery and household items in reusable packaging. Here’s the story on it from the CBC today.

We have a couple quick thoughts on this:

The packaging formats being put in place are being held to a high standard by Tom Szaky and his team at TerraCycle, who've worked hard to implement vendor takeback programs in various industries. They're definitely worth checking out.

These types of programs are an important step in establishing a circular economy - where waste is a thing of the past. This is something Sean is pretty passionate about, and would love to talk to you and your business about. Reach out to him at sean@greenishcanada.com, or DM us on our socials (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).

And a quote from the video on CBC to think about: "You know what's exciting about this? It's being led by industry, by companies. It's not being led by government." We're not saying this is necessarily right or wrong, but buy-in from everyone is going to be important, long-term.

We hope to see this program expand everywhere soon! Thanks to TerraCycle and Loblaw for putting concept into action.
